ULTRABREATHE - power breathe respiratory breathing trainer

ULTRABREATHE - power breathe respiratory breathing trainer

U l t r a b r e a t h e™

 . . . boost your breathing power

Patented Comfort Valve™ system helps co-ordinate the resistance experienced with your natural breathing pattern

  • Rotate the sleeve to adjust the resistance

It works on the principle of resistance. As you inhale, the resistance created makes your respiratory muscles work harder, and the harder they work the stronger and more durable they become - and as your breathing power improves, the Ultrabreathe can be gradually adjusted to provide more resistance.

Just a few minutes training a day can help...

BOOST PERFORMANCE.

Footballers, runners, swimmers, divers and cyclists can all enjoy a sporting edge with improved pulmonary performance - click here for more details. They can also use it to supplement their warm up routine - research shows that typical warm up techniques tend to ignore the breathing muscles. The Ultrabreathe is also great for singers and players of wind instruments too!

REDUCE BREATHLESSNESS.

Whilst there are many underlying causes of breathlessness such as asthma, emphysema and bronchitis - or simply ageing - clinical research shows that improving the strength and durability of the breathing muscles can significantly reduce the sensation of breathlessness and lead to increased exercise tolerance - click here for more details.

It's weight training for your breathing muscles!

Boost Performance Relief for breathlessness sufferers
The patented Ultrabreathe is used by athletes, sportspeople, singers and musicians the world over to supercharge their inspiratory muscles.

Using the principle of resistance training there are two key ways the Ultrabreathe can help give you the edge:

Warm up: Supplement your usual routine prior to full body workout or competition - traditional techniques tend to ignore the breathing muscles.

Performance: Follow our training regime for just 5 minutes per day to boost pulmonary capacity and endurance. Increase the resistance as lung function improves - and take advantage of the patented adjustable valve system which lets you select the moment resistance is experienced on inhalation.

Did you know that recent research indicates a connection between trained respiratory muscles and reduced lactate levels? Boutellier et al found that:

- respiratory training significantly increased the endurance time of respiratory muscles

- respiratory trained subjects had lost the sensation of breathlessness

- blood lactate concentrations were reduced during post training exercise

In conclusion they speculate * 'that the reduction in blood lactate concentration was most likely caused by an improved lactate uptake by the trained respiratory muscles.'

* (1998, Med Sci Sports Exerc 1998, Eur Jour Appl Physiol 1999)
Whilst there are many underlying causes of breathlessness such as asthma, emphysema and bronchitis, clinical research shows that improving the strength and durability of the muscles we use to breathe in - muscles which may have lost strength over the years due to poor breathing habits or simply the ageing process - can both significantly reduce the sensation of breathlessness and lead to increased exercise tolerance and endurance.

Unfortunately for many breathlessness sufferers the level of physical exercise required to exercise these muscles is not an option. Indeed many find themselves trapped in a vicious cycle of breathlessness and inactivity from which there seems no escape.

Now, thanks to the Ultrabreathe, you can relieve the symptoms of breathlessness by giving your lungs a daily workout from the comfort of the armchair without the need for vigorous physical exercise.

5 minutes a day is all it takes!

To begin with you set the resistance at a low level, gradually increasing it as your lung power improves. After a few weeks you should be starting to enjoy the benefits of Ultrabreathe training - and after a month or so just a few days training a week should be sufficient to maintain your enhanced lung function.

In January 1999 a survey revealed that, of those who had used their Ultrabreathe for at least a month, 86% reported improvements in their 'breathing / physical condition.'

Contraindications:

Used correctly the Ultrabreathe can be used by almost anyone and has no harmful side effects. Very occasionally, however, there may be instances in which the creation of a large negative pressure in the chest may exacerbate an existing condition. As such, if you are on medication, suffer from a medical condition (asthma for example), or are uncertain as to whether the Ultrabreathe is suitable for you, then you should consult your doctor prior to commencing training. Above all, unless advised by your doctor, you should not stop taking any medication - the Ultrabreathe is intended to complement existing treatments, not replace them.
